S&P Futures are flat to higher this morning ahead of two key economic reports. This morning we have the PPI (final demand) and the weekly jobless claims due out one hour before the market opens. The White House is meeting with Tech firms today to discuss software security issues. TSM and DAL reported strong earnings this morning and KBH delivered an RPS beat after the close. According to a news report this morning, BA's 737 Max could resume flights in China as early as this month. BA shares are higher by 2.74% in the pre-market.

S&P Futures are showing gains this morning ahead of this morning's CPI release. Estimates are for a year-over-year increase of 7%. The CPI data is used by the FOMC for determining the path of interest rates. China's CPI data came in lower than expected overnight. Fed Chairman Powell's comments yesterday in front of the Senate Banking Committee were not as hawkish as expected resulting in a positive reaction from the equity markets.

S&P Futures are displaying solid gains this morning after yesterday's bout of volatility. The key catalyst for today will be Fed Chairman Jerome Powell's appearance in front of the Senate Banking Committee this morning. Retail stocks are being hit with multiple price target downgrades this morning as the retail sector is having a difficult time with the Omicron virus.

S&P Futures have reversed course and are now trading lower. The lower opening in Europe is being shown in the S&P's this morning. The market is showing signs of being anxious ahead of the upcoming CPI report. Bond yields rose to 1.795% from 1.769% on Friday. Later this week, the fourth-quarter earnings season kicks off at major U.S. financial firms, with JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, and BlackRock due to file results.

S&P Futures are positive this morning, gains are also being seen in the Dow and NASD futures. Key catalyst today in the Non-Frams Payroll report due out one hour before the market opens. Oil is continuing to climb higher which is boosting the valuation of oil stocks. The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note has steadied, edging down to 1.728%. Next week the Dec CPI data will be released and it is also the start of earnings season.

S&P Futures have turned slightly higher this morning and are now positive. Tech stocks saw their worst pounding in months following the release of minutes from the last Federal Reserve rate-setting meeting which showed even more nervousness toward inflation than traders had expected. This morning's economic calendar is active with reports due out on Jobless claims, International Trade in goods and services, Factory orders and the ISM services index.

S&P Futures are pushing higher in the premarket. Contracts for the tech-focused Nasdaq-100 added 0.7% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose roughly 0.6%. TSLA reported that annual vehicle deliveries surged 87% in 2021. Oil is trading higher ahead of tomorrow's meeting on production quotas. The November Construction Spending report is due out today, 30 minutes after the market opens. The Omicron virus continues to spread and is likely to diminish Q1 GDP figures.
