S&P Futures are showing gains this morning. This morning we have the jobless claims being released. President Biden is scheduled to speak to Russian President Putin later today in an effort to lower tensions in Europe. Covid infections numbers are climbing fast. However, the market is in its year-end rally mode and is likely to finish in the green today. Dow futures and Nasdaq futures are also trading higher.

S&P Futures are higher and in a tight trading range. The market appears to be indicating that the Omicron variant is unlikely to lead to harsh restrictions on commerce and movement as more information emerges. The market will be paying attention this morning to the pending home sales figures and the EIA oil stockpiles report which are due out this morning. Weakness is being seen in Europe this morning and overnight in Asia. Oil is also trading lower.

S&P Futures are on the move higher this morning. Last week's report indicating that the omicron coronavirus variant is not as deadly as prior strains is a key factor helping stocks to push higher. Asian and European markets are moving higher and crude oil is showing gains this morning.

S&P Futures are green this morning indicating a higher opening. Omicron cases are likely to continue to push higher and the weekly 7-day average is more than 200,000 news cases per day. Airline stocks are weak this morning due to the cancelation of 2000 pre-holiday flights. Healthcare stocks are trading higher in the pre-market.

The market sentiment remains positive due to economic data releases and increasing realization that the omicron variant symptoms are less incapacitating than Delta and the vaccines offer a high degree of protection. S&P Futures are indicating a higher opening today as the futures contracts are up almost 1% this morning. Omicron continues to be the dominant catalyst on traders' minds. S&P Futures are indicating a lower opening today of more than 1 percent. S&P futures have moved off their earlier pre-market lows, but remain firmly in the red. Asian markets dropped, and European markets are sliding lower this morning. Goldman cut its U.S. GDP forecast, and Biden economic agenda appears to be in doubt. This afternoon we have quarterly earnings reports from Micron Technologies and Nike.
