Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and the Director of the White House National Economic Council Kevin Hassett are being discussed as the top candidates to succeed Jerome Powell as the next Fed Chair. Key economic event today will be the Fed's Meeting Minutes from last months fed meeting. Merck announced a deal to takeover VRNA. Boeing is higher on upbeat news related to plane deliveries. S&P Futures are moderately higher this morning with tariff developments and pending trade deal in focus. President Trump sent out tariff letter yesterday, neither India nor the E.U. received letters. As a result, markets are expecting trade deals to be announced this week with India and the E.U. No major economic releases are due out today. Tech stocks are displaying positive action in the pre-market. On the earning front, Delta Air Lines, Conagra Brands, Levi Strauss, Simply Good Foods, PriceSmart, AZZ Inc., and WD-40 are expected to release this week.

S&P Futures are displaying modest weakness this morning as markets await details from the White House, where President Trump is expected to send out tariff letters to numerous countries today. The focus is on which countries will receive these notifications and what specific tariff rates will be imposed, as the administration’s 90-day pause on higher tariffs expires this week. President Trump will be hosting a state dinner tonight for Israel's Prime Minster this evening. Tesla shares are lower after Elon Musk said he had created a new political party. No major economic releases are due out today. S&P Futures are displaying a cautious move higher this morning as the market await this morning Non-Farms Payrolls report. Overnight in Washington, House Republicans have been working through significant internal resistance to President Trump's tax bill. The bill is expected to pass sometime today. The Trump Administration has eased some curbs on exports of chip-design software to China. TRIP is trading higher this morning as Starboard Value fund has taken a 9% position in the company. Seeing positive momentum in AMZN & TGT ahead of their sales events. On the economic front, Reports on the trade deficit, weekly jobless claims and purchasing managers indexes for services are also due out today.

S&P Futures are moving slightly higher this morning. Banks are displaying positive momentum due to announcements of buybacks and dividend increases as all major banks past the Fed's stress test. TSLA will be releasing its 2Q sales figures today. Healthcare stocks are weakening as CNC withdraws 2025 guidance. While the Senate past President Trump's tax bill yesterday, the bill faces significant difficulties in the House. House GOP leaders are aiming for a July 4 deadline to pass the bill, but internal rifts and policy disagreements make its passage in the current form uncertain. On the economic front the ADP Employment report is due out.

The EU trade negotiator has an offer to present that will accept a 10% universal tariff if key sectors are exempted. The Senate is currently holding votes on the reconciliation bill. Fed Chairman Jerome Powell is scheduled to speak this morning at an ECB conference. Gaming stocks are trading higher this morning as Macau gaming revenue came in strong. TSLA is lower as the Trump / Musk feud continues to make headlines. On the economic front, markets are awaiting the ISM Manufacturing data for June. PRGS to released positive earning, although stock is displaying weakness.

S&P Futures are positive this morning due to trade talks and developments on the budget reconciliation bill. Canada has officially dropped its Digital Services Tax (DST) proposal, just hours before the first payments were due. The Senate is moving forward with a vote on the reconciliation bill, officially titled the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act," with a final vote expected as early as today. The latest draft of the bill, published Friday, deals a significant setback to the renewable energy industry by sharply reducing or eliminating key tax credits for clean energy projects. On the economic calendar, employment data will be in focus this week. The Non-Farms Payrolls report is being released on Thursday due to the Friday holiday. PRGS to release earnings after the bell today.

S&P Futures are trading higher this morning. The dollar is weakening, which is a positive for corporate earnings, however, a weaker dollar is also considered inflationary. Media reports indicate that President Trump is actively considering naming his pick to succeed Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, with the aim of shaping a more dovish narrative around interest rates. President Trump has a "One Big Beautiful Bill event today, the event is designed to pressure GOP holdouts. There is an EU Leaders Summit today which will cover topics such as Ukraine, the Middle East, Trump Tariffs, EU Defense and migration policy. On the economic calendar is data on Weekly jobless claims, durable-goods orders for May, the third estimate for first-quarter GDP, pending home sales. Micron shares are higher after its earnings beat. NKE to release earnings after the bell today.
