S&P Futures are positive this morning as the market is adjusting it's forecast for no more rate hikes in 2023. Comments for Fed officials yesterday took a dovish turn which is driving yields lower and equities higher. Pepsi is displaying gains this morning as 3Q earnings top estimates. In the Middle East, Israeli forces are preparing for a mass offensive against Hamas. In Europe, stocks are displaying strong gains as additional interest rates hikes seem unlikely. Oil is pulling back slightly this morning, down 1/2 a percent after yesterday 4% gain.

S&P Futures are trading loser this morning ahead as Israel declares war on Palestine after weekend attacks by Hammas. Any increase in middle east creates volatility due to concerns that oil supply chain may be impacted. Treasury markets are closed today due to the Columbus Day holiday. Earnings season will start later this week. JPM C and WFC are all releasing on Friday. In Europe, stocks are mostly lower this morning as geopolitical tensions have the markets concerned, oil prices are spiking in the pre market.

S&P Futures are slightly higher this morning ahead of this morning labor report. Estimates are wide between 160,000 to 189,000 for the nonfarm payrolls number with the jobless rate ticking down to 3.7%. Exxon is said to be close to a deal to takeover Pioneer National Resources for $60B. Automaker and the UAW may be making progress. In Europe, stocks are higher this morning. Oil futures are flat to higher but remain on track for a significant weekly loss.

S&P Futures are slightly lower this morning ahead of this morning employment report. Markets will be paying close attention to the employment reports due out today and tomorrow. In addition, today's calendar has a heavy dose of FedSpeak. Tech shares are showing some positive action this morning. The UAW and the automakers are said to have made progress on a new contract. Food stocks are on watch as WMT executive correlated a slowdown is snack sales to the increase in weight-loss drug use. In Europe, stocks flat to higher this morning. Oil futures are down over 2% that is in addition to yesterday's 5% drop.

S&P Futures are flat tohigher this morning. The market has plenty of possible catalysts today including economic reports and Fed Speak. The recent strong gains in the dollar are likely to become sticky as bond yields continue to trade higher. Markets are likely to experienced sluggish trading today as the elevated cost for capital is at its higher level in years. In Europe, stocks mostly higher this morning. Oil futures are down over 1.5% ahead of the OPEC meeting this week.

S&P Futures are flat to lower this morning. While comments from Fed officials created anxiety in the markets yesterday, today's focused will be on the release of the JOLS employment report. In the GOOG antitrust trial, MSFT CEO said the tied up between AAAPL & GOOG hurt is Bing search engine. For & GM have started layoffs due to the UAW strike. In Europe, stocks have reversed course and are now trading lower with underperformance in retail, real estate and utilities sectors. Oil futures are remain soft ahead of the OPEC meeting this week.

S&P Futures are relatively unchanged this morning. While the passage of the debt ceiling bill is a positive for the markets, it was only a temporary solution. The bill only funds the government through Nov 17th. The earnings calendar is light this week; earnings season is set to kick off a week from Friday. Auto workers strike continues with no real progress made over the weekend. In Europe, stocks have reversed course and are now trading lower with underperformance in Chemicals, staples and media sectors. Oil futures are pushing higher ahead of this week's OPEC meeting.

S&P Futures are displaying a small gain this morning in the pre market, yet the possibility of additional weakness remains. Odds of a government shutdown are reported to be 90%. Estimates indicate that the shutdown could last 3 weeks. The UAW is said to be in continued discussions with the automakers, if no progress is mad additional strike will be announced tomorrow. S&P Futures are rebounding this morning. Key overnight news item was the release of Industrial profits data out of China which came in strong. The PBOC says the Chinese economy has increasing momentum and alluded to additional support measures. Debt ceiling bill talks remain stagnant, odds of a shutdown are raising. A government shut down will result in economic data & SEC filings not being released. In Europe, stocks are mostly higher, with tech, industrials, media and energy stocks gaining. Oil futures are display strong gains this morning as the news out of China is an indication that demand will remain strong.
