S&P Futures are expected to open higher this morning. Before the market opens today the Labor Dept will be releasing July employment data. This morning NonFarms Payrolls report will be closely monitored as it is used by the Fed's policy makers for interest rate decisions. AMZN delivered stronger than expected results last night. AAPL EPS were positive on the back of its App Store revenue, but declining iPhone sales is causing the stock to move lower this morning. European stocks have reversed course and are not trading lower on the day. Oil is higher and will likely close higher for the sith week in a row.

S&P Futures are lower going into this morning's economic releases. The Bank of England raised interest rates by 25 basis points. Market is preparing for key earnings releases this afternoon from Apple & Amazon. European stocks are off session lows and oil prices are flat this morning ahead of an OPEC meeting tomorrow.

S&P Futures are negative in reaction to Fitch Rating downgrading of the U.S. debt to AA+ from AAA. The downgrade is due to repeated debt ceiling standoffs in Congress and fiscal deterioration caused by the Feds latest rate hike. Market environment is different than in 2011 when S&P downgraded the U.S. debt. The negative headline will weigh on markets this morning. In Europe, the major indexes are trading lower and oil prices are higher as stockpiles data is weakening.

JNJ under pressure as a federal judge issue negative decision on talc case. CVX is upgraded by major broker. Trucking firm Yellow shut down operations yesterday. China's PMI data was mixed but additional economic stimulus appears to be on the way. In Europe, the major indexes are mixed to higher with corporate earnings results in focus. Oil prices are higher as China's stimulus comments is helping to boost prices this morning.

This morning PCE report on inflation will be the key to the market's direction today. Banks appear to be halting stock buybacks again as new capital rules loom. Japan makes a move to allow for higher interest rates. In Europe, the major indexes are mixed with corporate earnings results in focus. S&P Futures are displacing strong gains this morning as yesterday rate hike from the Fed may be its last. Fed Chair Powell indicated that their Fed staff no longer is predicting a recession in 2023. Looking ahead today, there are a host of key economic reports scheduled for release in the pre market (GDP, Durable Goods &Jobless Claims). Meta is up over 8% this morning on strong earnings. In Europe, the major indexes are highly positive due to corporate earnings results and ahead of today's ECB decision on interest rates. Oil prices are positive by more than 1% this morning as rate hikes tend to lift oil prices.
