Watch for St Louis Fed Bullard to deliver controversial comments in his speech this afternoon. European stocks are trading higher this morning with gains in the banking sector. PACW is down 45% this morning as the lender is said to be considering strategic options, which include a possible sale. The key economic event today is the ECB's pending announcement on interest rates. After the bell today, Apple will be releasing earnings. European stocks are in the red this morning and oil prices are slightly higher.

The key event today is the Fed announcement on interest rates, but the Fed's statement and the press conference at 2:30 pm ET will likely be the basis for today's trading. S&P Futures are flat to lower this morning, lack of morning volatility is due to holidays in Asia and Europe. Over the weekend China released weak Purchasing Managers index data which is causing oil prices to slide this morning. JP Morgan has agreed to buy First Republic Bank. Astellas Pharma is taking over Iveric Bio in a $5.9 billion deal. Later today the ISM Manufactuing index data is scheduled for release.

S&P Futures are lower this morning indicating weakness ahead. Tech stocks are the active issues as AMZN, INTC SNAP & TMUS all released earnings reports yesterday after the close. FRC is particularly active due to reports that authorities are working to secure further assistance for the regional lender. This morning, the employment cost index, personal income and spending, and the core personal consumption expenditures price index are all due ahead of the opening bell. The PCE index is one of the last major pieces of data before the Fed's meeting next week in which another 25 basis-point rate increase is widely expected. The CME FedWatch Tool is pointing to a 88% chance of a quarter-point rate increase next Wednesday by the central bank. European shares are lower with bank stocks under pressure. Oil prices are marginally higher this morning.

S&P Futures are higher and indicating a strong opening today. The market will focus on Economic data and earnings reports today. The key economic data point today is this morning's GDP report. Estimates indicate a positive GDP number is likely which is in contrast to the market's expectations that a recession is right around the corner. Meta's positive earnings report last night has the stock higher by more the 11% and there are more tech earnings on the way. Soon the market will start to change focus as there is an FOMC meeting next week. European shares are flat to higher and oil prices are marginally higher after yesterday's almost 4% drop in prices.

S&P Futures continue to indicate a positive opening. Futures have pulled back from earlier highs. Earnings beats from GOOG & MSFT have helped to calm the markets ending some of the negative pressure in the equity market this morning. There are a number of market-moving economic reports due out this morning, BSX, HLT & HUM have all reported earnings beats this morning. Still to come we will be hearing from BA & GD. European markets are trading lower and oil contracts are mixed.

S&P Futures are indicating a lower opening. Today is a bag day for tech earnings as we will be hearing from both MSFT and GOOG after the bell. This morning we have earnings beats from PEP, AAN, SHW, MCD, HAL, MMM & GM. Yesterday's earnings reports from First Republic and this morning's UBS report have the banking sector moving lower. Multiple companies are scheduled to have Shareholders meetings today including X, KO, C, BAC, DPZ, IBM, W, WFC, PZZA, & MSCI. European markets are trading lower and Oil is off by about 0.50%.
