S&P Futures are indicating a higher opening this morning. While the markets continue to monitor the situation in the Middle East, the conflict appears to be contained for the time being. This is a big week for earnings and economic events. A host of bank earnings are on the schedule as well as reports from NFLX & TSLA. Tomorrow Retail Sales report, housing data and a speech from Fed Chair Jerome Powell are on this week's schedule. In Europe, stocks have reversed early morning losses and are now higher on the day. Oil prices are mixed, and commentary form Gulf states continue to create volatility.

S&P Futures are indicating a lower opening today. There are multiple moving pieces this morning causing the negative sentiment. Markets are seeing a spike in oil prices as the conflict between Israel appears ready to launch a ground assault on the Gaza strip. Then we have the earnings announcements. BLK. JPM and UNH have already reported EPS beats, BLK & JPM beats were done on lower revenue. The MSFT takeover of ATVI was approved by British regulators. Consumer prices in China were unexpectedly flat in September, exacerbating worries over persistent deflationary pressures in the world's second-largest economy. In Europe, stocks are lower due to the China data and Middle East concerns. Oil prices are positive by more than 3.00%.

S&P Futures are indicating a positive opening this morning. Today's CPI report will be key to the market's direction. A noticeable downplay of rate hike talk from FOMC members is having a positive effect on the markets. Delta delivered strong earnings report his morning. Dominos Pizza missed on revenue, while Walgreens eps came i lower then estimates. In Europe, stocks are higher in reaction to comments from central bankers and the GDP data out of the U.K. Oil is higher, btu this morning stockpiles data from the EIA today could weaken this morning's gains.

S&P Futures are up modestly this morning. Fed speak is a hot topic today, yesterday Fed Gov Michelle Bowman toned down her hawkish narrative yesterday. Othe Fed officials also indicated that they are adjusting their views. This is important to know as the Fed will be releasing its meeting minutes today, which are likely to be hawkish. Israel said that an anti-tank missile was fired from Lebanon. UAW workers in Canada reached a tentative agreement with GM. In Europe, stocks are mainly higher, but there is weakness in the luxury good sector due to earnings releases. Oil is pulling back slightly this morning, as OPEC is said to be considering an increase in production.

S&P Futures are positive this morning as the market is adjusting it's forecast for no more rate hikes in 2023. Comments for Fed officials yesterday took a dovish turn which is driving yields lower and equities higher. Pepsi is displaying gains this morning as 3Q earnings top estimates. In the Middle East, Israeli forces are preparing for a mass offensive against Hamas. In Europe, stocks are displaying strong gains as additional interest rates hikes seem unlikely. Oil is pulling back slightly this morning, down 1/2 a percent after yesterday 4% gain.

S&P Futures are trading loser this morning ahead as Israel declares war on Palestine after weekend attacks by Hammas. Any increase in middle east creates volatility due to concerns that oil supply chain may be impacted. Treasury markets are closed today due to the Columbus Day holiday. Earnings season will start later this week. JPM C and WFC are all releasing on Friday. In Europe, stocks are mostly lower this morning as geopolitical tensions have the markets concerned, oil prices are spiking in the pre market.

Estimates are wide between 160,000 to 189,000 for the nonfarm payrolls number with the jobless rate ticking down to 3.7%. Exxon is said to be close to a deal to takeover Pioneer National Resources for $60B. Automaker and the UAW may be making progress. In Europe, stocks are higher this morning. Oil futures are flat to higher but remain on track for a significant weekly loss.

In addition, today's calendar has a heavy dose of FedSpeak. Tech shares are showing some positive action this morning. The UAW and the automakers are said to have made progress on a new contract. Food stocks are on watch as WMT executive correlated a slowdown is snack sales to the increase in weight-loss drug use. In Europe, stocks flat to higher this morning. Oil futures are down over 2% that is in addition to yesterday's 5% drop.
