S&P Futures are lower and the sentiment remains bearish. Comments from 2 Fed bank presidents on the possibility of a 50-basis point rate hike have global markets pulling back and oil futures moving lower. It's important to note that James Bullard and Loretta Mester are not on the voting committee and that the majority of Fed officials are indicating a .25% hike at the next meeting. According to FedWatch there is only an 18% chance of a 50 basis point hike. This morning with have economic data on Import and Export prices and we will be hearing from 2 more FOMC members.

S&P Futures are flat to lower this morning ahead of several data releases that could provide additional clarity as to the health of the economy. Early this afternoon, St. Louis Fed bank president James Bullard is scheduled to speak, Bullard has a history of making comments that creates volatility in the markets. The FTC, DOJ, and House committees are focused on the anticompetitive behavior of big tech. European markets are positive due to corporate earnings reports and oil futures have reversed direction and are not higher on the day.

S&P Futures are lower this morning as yesterday's CPI print indicates that the Fed will continue its rate hikes this year. In the day ahead, we have a host of earnings reports and a number of key economic reports scheduled for release. Retail Sales for January are expected to rise 1.9% from the prior month. Oil is moving lower as last night's stockpile data display a larger-than-expected build.

S&P Futures are holding onto gains this morning ahead of this morning's CPI report. It is expected to show a 6.2% rise from a year earlier. Oil prices are trading lower as the White House announced another release from the Strategic Petroleum Reserves. European stocks are higher this morning.

S&P Futures are in positive territory and trading slightly higher this morning. Today's calendar is void of any market-moving economic reports, yet tomorrow's CPI release will surely create some fireworks. European exchanges are down and oil futures are pushing higher as Russia announced production cuts.

S&P Futures are trading higher this morning as the market reacts to a host of earnings reports this morning. One hour before the market opens today, the labor department will be releasing Jobless Claims figures for last week. Markets in Europe are positive this morning and oil is moving slightly higher.

S&P Futures are giving back some of yesterday's gains this morning. The market will be paying attention to an unusually high number of FOMC members who will be speaking today. The next potential market-moving economic report will be on Tuesday with the CPI release. President Biden touted his economic record in his State of the Union
speech last night. He also called for a special billionaire tax and quadrupling a tax on stock buybacks. European markets are moving higher and oil futures are trading higher this morning.

S&P Futures are flat to higher in the pre-market. The markets are waiting to hear comments from Fed Chairman Jerome Powell this morning. Also, President Biden is scheduled to give his "State of the Union" speech this evening. Asian and European are mostly higher and oil prices are rebounding. Earnings are still in focus today as there are a host of companies preparing their earnings releases.

S&P Futures are negative this morning as U.S-China tensions rise over the balloon incident. Traders are cautious this week due to a lack of economic reports being scheduled for release this week. European exchanges are down 1% this and oil futures are displaying small gains. This afternoon watch for earnings reports from ATVI, SPG, TTWO & PINS. TSLA is raising prices on it Model Y, Dell Technologies is cutting 5% of its workforce, NEM launches a bid for Australian rival and Public Storage makes a bid for rival Life Storage.
